Hardcore from around the world

Have you ever wondered what the Hardcore scene is like around the world? Well fear not! We have compiled a list of some Hardcore bands from around the world that you may or may not have heard of before.

AUSTRALIA

Hailing from Sydney, Upperground are an infectious hardcore band whose songs are fuelled with grooves, grit and bite. The vocals exude attitude with a doses of swagger and snarls which definitely are catchy enough to leave you singing along for days. They are an utter breath of fresh air and definitely my favourite on this list.

UNITED KINGDOM

Grove Street Families are the UK's very own hardcore band with a Grand Theft Auto inspired name. Their sound is straight up hardcore which is simple, but effective and is accessible to those who aren't familiar with the hardcore genre. Working alongside rapper Obi Wan, they provide an urban edge to their songs and allow for a glistening fall in the middle of their latest EP which compliments their GTA name well. They are definitely worth checking out.

USA

Incendiary are a sociopolitically aware band from Long Island who incorporate guitar-driven harmonics, aggressive sing-alongs, breakdowns, storming drum beats and the right amount of utter rage. They're the perfect example of a New York hardcore band.

CHILE- K.O.

Before making this article, I was completely unaware of the booming Hardcore scene in Chile- it turns out they have a lot of bands to offer and one of those is K.O. They mix together elements of metal, beatdown and hardcore together and are simply hard as nails. I can only imagine how good the HC scene is in Chile with bands like this playing- listen for yourself here

SPAIN - 26/H

26/H offer the punk side of hardcore to their listeners with their rapped vocals on top of the heavy guitars and infectious drum beats. Their most recent release takes the listeners on a journey of ups and downs where different sounds and styles are immersed into every song; you can listen to it here

ITALY- RAW POWER

Alike to 26/H, Italian band Raw Power are reminiscent of the beginnings of Hardcore in New York. Yelled vocals, simple guitar chords paired with furiously fast snare beats is the perfect summary for this band.

CROATIA- SHIN

With their home country being Croatia, Shin provide their own take on the melodic hardcore whilst incorporating sounds similar to bands like H20 and Bane.

ARGENTINA- HEF

HEF are absolute carnage- organised chaos.

PORTUGAL- MMG

Active back in 1994 to 1997, Portugal's very own MMG produced old school hardcore punk. Simplistic riffs, paired with spoken vocals make them an easy listen for most fans of the Hardcore genre. I just wish I understood what the vocalist was rapping about...

FRANCE- ATH

Fun fuelled vibrant hardcore from France with plenty of opportunities for silly walks an two steps.Check it out here

SOUTH KOREA- DEAD GAKKAHS

Lightning fast and ferocious. With their female vocalist screaming out the words with fury to every song, Dead Gakkahs prove that girls can make their mark in Hardcore just as much as the guys can.

BOSNIA- MENACE TO SOCIETY

Immense heavy grooves with deep, cutting vocals infused with metal and beatdown elements make Menace to Society a great listen; their music incorporates a little something for everyone and is similar to Euro bands like Stab. Have a listen for yourself here and see what you think!

GERMANY- THRONE TORCHER

Signed to the label BDHW alongside bands like Malevolence, Throne Torcher are already on their way up and bound for success. With their heavy beatdowns, thunderous drums and menacing vocals, it's not hard to understand why they are on this big label amongst many other big names.

So that's our list of cool Hardcore bands from around the globe- we can only be left to wonder how many more there are out there that we haven't yet listened to...
